Description
Bult in 1816 by a wine merchant, Brulatour (at 520 Royal Street) is probably the most well-known courtyard in all of New Orleans. In the 1930s, an artist community moved in and helped make this spot one of the most popularly photographed and painted courtyards in the Quarter. If you get a chance to visit, walk down one more block to 610-612 Royal to check out my work in the gallery of LeJardin/Adorn. It's a fun place that I think you'll enjoy. I painted Brulatour in the classic manner (my art teachers would be proud) - and used one of my favorite color combinations of "Mediterranean Blue" and reddish-orange. I love the harmony.
