This is the old tractor barn at St. Joseph's Abbey, a Benedictine Abbey located close to my hometown in Louisiana. A former rice plantation, The Abbey's main focus is the education and formation of future priests and occupies a total of 1,500 acres of piney wooded land. The monks have converted one of the old buildings for art instructions and workshops. I go to this tranquil place, with art supplies in hand, most Tuesdays and have created this painting from one of those days.
